Il fenomeno catalano, su quelle che per lui sono ormai le "nevi di casa",  si deve accontentare della terza piazza, ma poi retrocede in classifica causa penalizzazione cronometrica....

A Tromsø William Bon Mardion vince l'ultima prova individuale di Coppa del Mondo e si aggiudica la coppa di cristallo di specialità. Tra le donne Laetitia Roux conferma la sua leadership, vincendo gara e classifica generale.

 

Questa mattina a qualche chilometro da Tromsø in Norvegia, si ė corsa la Blåtind Arctic Race, penultima prova del circuito Scarpa ISMF World Cup. In programma l'Individual Race che a causa delle avverse condizioni meteo si ė disputata lungo un tracciato di riserva da ripetere due volte per un totale di sei salite con un dislivello complessivo di 1750 metri.

Nella prima metà di gara si sono alternati al comando Manfred Reichegger, Damiano Lenzi, e William Bon Mardion, nella terza salita l'azzurro Lenzi aumenta il ritmo portandosi dietro il francese Bon Mardion. Reichegger si stacca leggermente senza però perdere troppi metri dai due battistrada, alle sue spalle Kilian Jornet in netta rimonta. Bon Mardion in discesa vola tenendo delle linee perfette e guadagna la prima posizione. Lenzi al cambio d'assetto accusa un ritardo di alcuni secondi. Le posizioni rimangono pressoché invariate, Bon Mardion mantiene la prima posizione andando a incrementare il vantaggio su Damiano Lenzi. Il campione transalpino vince a braccia alzate con il tempo di 1:23’01’’, Lenzi accusa un ritardo di 30 secondi. In terza posizione dopo una battaglia sportiva con Manfred Reichegger arriva Kilian Jornet, ma in classifica si vede retrocesso alla quarta posizione per aver preso un minuto di penalità. Manfred Reichegger sale quindi sul terzo gradino del podio, dietro a Kilian si classifica l’altro azzurro Robert Antonioli.

 

 

 

Con i punti assegnati in questa ultima prova di Coppa del Mondo, William Bon Mardion vince con 365 punti la Coppa di specialità (Individual Race) in seconda posizione si classifica Kilian Jornet (360 punti) mentre è terzo Damiano Lenzi con 295 punti.

Nella gara al femminile Laetitia Roux, confermando le performance stagionali, vince davanti alla svizzera Maude Mathys. La francese che così si aggiudica anche la Coppa di specialità, chiude Blåtind Arctic Race in 1:23’49’’. La Mathys è seconda con 1:26’19, mentre Valentine Fabre è terza. Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand ed Emelie Forsberg sono rispettivamente quarta e quinta.

In classifica generale di Coppa del Mondo (Individual Race) alle spalle della Roux (500 punti) sale sul secondo gradino del podio Maude Mathys (320 punti), mentre Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand è terza con 285 punti.

Domani si correrà la Sprint Race, i punti in palio decreteranno il vincitore della Coppa del Mondo Overall. Per la classifica femminile in giochi sono chiusi con Laetitia Roux prima, Maude Mathys  seconda e Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand terza. Per quanto riguarda la classifica maschile i risultati di domani saranno fondamentali per aggiudicarsi la Coppa Overall. L’azzurro Damiano Lenzi con 549 punti è in prima posizione provvisoria davanti a Kilian (538 punti) e a William Bon Mardion (484 punti). Domani si scende in pista alle ore 11.

William Bon Mardion has won the last individual race of the World Cup at Tromsø and has been awarded the specialty Crystal Cup. Of the women, Laetitia Roux has confirmed her leadership, wining the race and the overall ranking.

This morning, some kilometres from Tromsø in Norway, the Blåtind Arctic Race was run, the second to last trial of the Scarpa ISMF World Cup circuit. The Individual Race, due to adverse weather conditions, was held on an alternative route, which was run twice for a total of six climbs and an overall altitude gain of 1,750 metres.

In the first half of the race Manfred Reichegger, Damiano Lenzi, and William Bon Mardion all took the lead at different points. On the third climb the Italian Lenzi increased his pace taking the Frenchman Bon Mardion behind him. Reichegger fell behind a little but without losing too much ground to the two pace setters, with Kilian Jornet hot on his tail. Bon Mardion flew down the slope, staying perfecting in line and gaining first place. Lenzi, in changing gear, lost a few seconds. The placings remained more or less unchanged; Bon Mardion remained in first place, increasing his advantage over Damiano Lenzi. The transalpine champion won with his arms held high in a time of 1:23’01’’, Lenzi was 30 seconds behind him. In third place, after a sporting battle with Manfred Reichegger was Kilian Jornet, but his ranking goes back to fourth place due to a one minute penalty. Manfred Reichegger thus climbs onto the third step of the podium, and behind Kilian the other Italian Robert Antonioli qualifies.

With the points awarded in this last leg of the World Cup, William Bon Mardion has won with 365 points the Specialty Cup (Individual Race), in second place is Kilian Jornet (360 points) while in third place is Damiano Lenzi with 295 points.

Maude Mathys. The French woman thus has also won the Specialty Cup and finished the Blåtind Arctic Race in 1:23’49’’. Mathys was second with 1:26’19, while Valentine Fabre was third. Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand and Emelie Forsberg were forth and fifth respectively.

In the overall ranking of the World Cup (Individual Race) behind Roux (500) points, Maude Mathys (320 points) climbs onto the second step of the podium, while Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand was third with 285 points.

Tomorrow the Sprint Race will be run. The points to be awarded will determine the winner of the Overall World Cup. For the women’s category the game is over with Laetitia Roux first, Maude Mathys second and Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand third. For the men’s category the results will be fundamental in awarding the Overall Cup. The Italian Damiano Lenzi with 549 points is in provisional first place ahead of Kilian (538 points) and of William Bon Mardion (484 points). Tomorrow the race starts at 11 am.
